Assignment Overview


This page is your "bucket list" of assignments to be completed for this course.

e-mail attachment - Send me an e-mail message that includes an attachment - any attachment will do.

Accounts - Create accounts for web based resources that will be used in this course. Report these to your instructor using this online form: http://tinyurl.com/4a43sjc

These include, but are not limited to: Google account so we can use Google DocsWordpress Blog (or Blogger) account, VoicethreadTwitterDiigoPBWorks (optional), EdmodoGlogsterMendeleyWeebly, Wallwisher, Flicker (optional), Dropbox, Evernote, and .... (more to come).

Diigo - Add resources to your Diigo account. You should try to add at least five per week, and end up with at least 50 resources bookmarked in Diigo by the end of this course. Join http://groups.diigo.com/group/msu_ed521 and use this to share resources with your class members. Create a group that you can use to share resources with your students or with fellow educators. Create a list of resources for one topic and organize them the way you want them for sharing with others.

Weebly - Set up your class site using Weebly. You should use this site to include or link to your assignments for this course.

Screen Capture - Make a screen capture and "mark it up" to explain or draw attention to something. Include it in a page on your Weebly site.

Voicethread - Add your reply to the class introduction Voicethread - Create your own Voicethread and have students, friends, family or classmates respond to it.

Wordle - Create a Wordle and include it in your Weebly class site.

Google Docs -
  • Document - Create a Google Doc that you share with other teachers and myself dealing with one specific topic.
  • Google Form - Create a Google Form survey and have people respond to it. Share the spreadsheet results with me.
  • Google Presentation - Create a simple Presentation to share with this class or your students, fellow educators, parents, etc. At least five slides.

Blog - Create a blog that you will use to write your thoughts about articles you are asked to read. You can use Wordpress, Blogger, EduBlogs (http://edublogs.org/), or (possibly) the blog in Weebly. Include a link to it in your Weebly site for this course.

Screen Cast - Create a help or tutorial screen cast using ScreenJelly or other similar software. Embed it in your class site or include a link to it.

Wallwisher - Add your comment to the class Wallwisher. Create your own Wallwisher and use it with students, classmates, etc.

Twitter - Create a Twitter account. You should post at least three Tweets before or during each class session using the course hashtag that pertain to the course.

Glogster - Create a Glog and embed it on your Weebly site for this course.

Dropbox - So far you just need to set up an account

Evernote - So far you just need to set up an account

Mendeley - So far you just need to set up an account

iTunes - Find at least five podcasts that you would like to listen to for professional reasons, and at least two from iTunes U, one from Beyond Campus, and one from iTunes U K-12. Include the link to these on your Weebly site for this course.
