Social Bookmarking

Q. What is the purpose of "social bookmarking" using a tool like Diigo?
A. There are several good reasons to use a tool like Diigo, but two main ones. The first is for you personally - when you bookmark a site, it isn't just bookmarked on that one computer, you have access to it anytime/anywhere you have access to a browser, since it is stored in "the cloud." Second - it makes it easy for you to share your bookmarks with students and other educators - that is why it is referred to as "social bookmarking."
